Bitpanic is a computer music collective based in Los Angeles that explores networked compositional systems, experimental sound practices, and improvisation. Bitpanic follows the computer music lineage pioneered by the League of Automatic Music Composers and The Hub where the computer network is considered as one large, interactive sonic environment or instrument. Each node of the instrument is an independently programmed computer, electronic circuit, or noise making machine capable of producing all manner of sounds and interaction. The sonic amalgam is often unpredictable, amazingly dynamic, usually noisy, and occasionally ambient.

Each member of Bitpanic is a former student and colleague of the late and great computer musician Mark Trayle and include Casey AndersonScott Cazan, Clay Chaplin, David Paha, and Stephanie Smith.
